Who\/what is MY Cava?<\/strong>
The smallest of two or three sisters build at Frederikssund Shipyard. We’ve also been told there’s an article in a 50-60 year old magazine “sejl og motor” – we are trying to find that, as well as the drawings for her.

MY Cava is a semi-displacement 10-meter coastal cruiser (kystkrydser) designed for extended voyages along the Nordic coastlines and inland waterways. With a wide beam, robust construction, she offers both comfort and capability for self-reliant boating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How old is she?<\/strong>
We’ve been told she was build in 1947. Still looking for exact details\/information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What engine does she have?<\/strong>
She is equipped with an Iveco\/Aifa (Ford\/New Holland) diesel engine. It features a 4-cylinder inline configuration, naturally aspirated, with a capacity of 5 liters and an output of 92 BHP. The engine is fitted with Bowman water and oil coolers. Throttle and gear are controlled by a MicroCommander 9110X. In short – we have more power than we will ever need…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steering?<\/strong>
Originally fitted with wire controls, but now with ‘Rolls Royce hydraulic steering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is she made of?<\/strong>
Hull: Larch on Oak. Deck: Oregon pine, varnished with Coelan.

Interior?<\/strong>
We are currently revamping the electrics and layout. The aft cabin will be designated for storage, tools, and occasional accommodations. The front cabin includes a lounge\/sleeping area, storage, and a compact galley.

Dimensions?<\/strong>
Just about 33 feet long and about 10 feet wide, with a draft of approximately 3 feet and a bridge clearance of about 7 feet. She weighs between 6 and 8 tons.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
